OAI Travel Grant Program

After a very successful 2015TRAVEL GRANT PROGRAM, OAI is proud to offer again, for 2016, support to students & professors who used or are using OAI’s UV Exposure Systems in their research and are presenting their research at a technical conference. In 2015, OAI travel grants went to students presenting their work in MEMS, Nanotechnology, and Microfluidics.

Travel grants are available to the applicant who meets the following criteria:

  1. Applicant is presenting a research paper or poster
  2. Applicant is using or will be using an OAI system
  3. Applicant must acknowledge the use of OAI equipment in their paper and the travel support by OAI
  4. Amount of grant to be $350-$500 US Dollars
  5. Permission given to OAI to post your paper on the OAI company website

Current Openings



      Systems Design, integrate, or test photonics or components. Develop optical or imaging systems, such as optical imaging products, optical components, image processes, signal process technologies, or optical systems. Analyze system performance or operational requirements. Write reports or research proposals. Assist in the transition of photonic prototypes to production.  Develop or test photonic prototypes or models. Conduct testing to determine functionality or optimization or to establish limits of photonics systems or components. Design electro-optical sensing or imaging systems. Read current literature, talk with colleagues, continue education, or participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in the field. Conduct research on new photonics technologies.
Education Requirement: Master’s degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering or a closely-related field of concentration.
Experience Requirement: 24 months in job offered or Photonics Engineer–related occupation.
Alternate Education and Experience Requirement: N/A

Specific Requirement: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering or a closely-related field of concentration plus 24 months in job offered or Photonics Engineer– related occupation. Education or Experience must include:

  1. Model and optimize optical systems in Zemax using Non-Sequential Ray Tracing;
  2. Adjusting transmission rates for wavelength ranges to assure spectrum of system reaches ASTM standards;
  3. PV testing of solar cells and 4) Adjusting spectrum uniformity and stability to reach AAA standards.
